The Tarmac spec from Keltruck Scania uses all Brigade Electronics FORS compliant safety devices except the Redtronic beacon bar, led strobes, bbs tek reverse alarm and high voltage power detector.
The Brigade 4-channel mobile DVR with a 500Gb hard drive offers:
- Proof against insurance claims such as ‘crash-for-cash’ scams
- Recording provides protection for drivers who may be wrongly accused
- Provides irrefutable evidence in the case of accidents and legal proceedings

Ultrasonic Obstacle Detection – 7 ultrasonic sensors side scan system
Reducing blind spots and improving driver visibility are important issues for operators of road-going vehicles. Ultrasonic proximity sensors minimise both vehicle damage and collisions with pedestrians, cyclists or objects. The detection system alerts the driver of obstacles close to the vehicle, whether moving or stationary. An audible and visual in-cab warning informs of distance whilst an external speaking alarm was added to alert cyclists and pedestrians that the vehicle is turning left.
FORS Compliant Cameras
Vehicle-mounted CCTV cameras can help the driver to see blind spots and offer a reversing aid by delivering a live feed on the monitor of everything in the camera view, including people or obstacles.
Kits-n-Bits fitted Brigade cameras to the left side, offside, cab forward facing, load area and rear of the Tarmac vehicle.
The camera views are displayed on a Brigade dash mounted monitor
white noise reverse audible warning
We also fitted a white noise reverse alarm. The bbs-tek® White Sound® reverse alarms create a “ssh-ssh” sound which is gentle on the ear and dissipates quickly, meaning the alarm can only be heard in the danger zone.

Additions For Maximum Safety
High Voltage detector
We fitted a Transport Support high voltage detector system (hvds), which is linked to the PTO unit (power take off), and activated when the tipper is activated to warn of overhead cables.
Beacon and warning strobes
The brand new truck was fitted with a 5ft low profile Redtronic beacon bar utilizing Scania original beacon brackets. High power led strobes were installed into the front grille and to the rear of the chassis. (All beacons and led strobes are R65 compliant)
